CET 2625C - Building Scalable Cisco Networks


3 hours Lecture, 1 hour Lab, 3 credits
Lower-Division College Credit
Prerequisites: CET 2620C or current CCNA Certification
This is the first of four courses that provide students with classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging networking technology. Instruction includes, but is not limited to, advanced concepts in networking, network terminology and protocols, BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), and OSPF (Open Shortest Pathway First). The curriculum also includes a study of network standards, Local Area Networks (LANs), and Wide Area Networks (WANs), as well as hierarchical design principles for building scalable internetworks, and advanced router concepts in building scalable internetworks. This course also covers the key characteristics for building secure, responsive, and adaptable internetworks using Access Control Lists (ACLs), Network Address Translation (NAT), and firewalls.
