EDE 4945 - Internship in Elementary Education 9 hours Practicum, 9 credits Upper-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): • Completion of all other courses required for the BS in Elementary Education Program with a minimum grade of C
• Verification of a passing grade on the Professional Education and Subject Area Exam portions of the Florida Teacher Certification Exam Corequisite(s): EDE 4936 AA Elective: No This course requires the teacher candidate to demonstrate competency of the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs) during one semester of full-time clinical experience in a K-6 school setting. Teacher Candidates work directly with a supervising teacher to apply the skills and competencies learned through college coursework in a real-world classroom setting. Candidates utilize these skills in working with diverse students in large group, small group, and individual settings to connect all aspects of literacy, math, and other content area instruction into a cohesive educational environment. This is a Florida (2010) ESOL-infused class.
