LAE 3414 - Children’s Literature 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Upper-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): EDF 3115 and EEX 3294 AA Elective: No This course develops instructional strategies for teaching reading through the use of children’s literature. Identifying high-quality literature and infusing research-based instructional methods enables the teacher candidate to scaffold student learning and integrate reading components within comprehensive lesson plans. In addition to class meetings, field experience in a K-6 setting is required. This course is a Florida (2010) ESOL Endorsement competency-infused class.
