MAT 1100 - Introduction to College Mathematics


3 hours Lecture, 3 credits
Lower-Division College Credit
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in MAT 0018 or MAT 0057, an appropriate placement examination score, or Developmental Education exemption.
AA Elective: Yes
This course provides a foundation for students preparing to take Topics in Mathematics (MGF 1106) or Explorations in Mathematics (MGF 1107). Emphasis is placed on the application of linear equations and inequalities. Topics also include real numbers and their properties, graphs and charts, and an introduction to logic, probability, statistics, and financial mathematics.

Note: Students who have obtained credit for Intermediate Algebra (MAT 1033) need not take this course. Students who complete MAT 1100 are not eligible to enroll in College Algebra (MAC 1105) without meeting other prerequisites.
