Business Administration (Insurance), AS

Program: AS-25033

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in business occupations in middle management with emphasis on specializations in business administration, insurance, and marketing. This program provides a broad study of business administration principles with a focus on those skills required to find employment in the chosen specialty.

Students who score below the required levels on state-mandated placement tests in writing, reading, and mathematics must enroll in and complete the appropriate developmental education courses before they enroll in some required program courses.

Note: Insurance courses are given in non-traditional format. Students should contact the Program Director for scheduling information.

 Note: Students who have completed the exams listed below can be awarded credit for the courses indicated. Toa pply for credit, students should meet with the Program Director for more information.

GLA Exam - Satisfactory exam documentation allows 6 credit hours to be awarded for the following courses:

  • RMI 2616 Principles of Property Insurance – General Lines Agent
  • RMI 1613 Principles of Property Insurance

RCSR Exam - Satisfactory exam documentation allows 3 credit hours to be awarded for the following course:

  • RMI 1613 Principles of Property Insurance

ACA Exam - Satisfactory exam documentation allows 3 credit hours to be awarded for the following course:

  • RMI 1631 Principles of Liability and Claim Adjusting – Accredited Claims Adjuster

Note: Keyboarding skills required for all computer-related courses.
