Program: AS-26120
The Professional Pilot Science Program prepares graduates for careers as professional pilots and/or flight instructors. Upon completion of the program, the student has been prepared to earn a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot Certificate, Single and Multi-Engine Land, with an Instrument Rating. This program also prepares students for additional optional certificates in Certified Flight Instructor—Airplane, Certified Instrument Flight Instructor, and Certified Multi-Engine Flight Instructor.
The Associate of Science in Professional Pilot Science degree requires a total of 64 credits. The program consists of 18 credits of General Education courses and an aviation core of 31 credits. Then each student chooses between the Single Engine Track or the Multi-Engine Track. In this program, the ground school and the flight training are combined rather than taught separately. Six credits of elective courses complete the program. For more information about flight training requirements and costs, please see the Aerospace website.
Students who score below the required levels on state-mandated placement tests in writing, reading, and mathematics must enroll in and complete the appropriate developmental education courses before they enroll in some required program courses.
