Supply Chain Management, AS

The Supply Chain Management Program prepares the graduate with the cross-functional skills necessary for the integration of business processes. The curriculum provides a study of planning and acquisition, as well as the flow and distribution of goods and services. Program courses focus on related business and accounting practices such as standard policies and operating procedures, negotiation techniques, planning, organization, logistics concepts, purchasing, and inventory control theory. Emphasis is placed on the development of business and managerial skills that are necessary for the efficient and effective performance of all operations within a company’s supply chain.

Certain courses in this program require placement at the college level or satisfaction of developmental education requirements in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Apply the fundamental principles of purchasing, contracting, and supply planning as these relate to inventory control and management.
PLO 2: Assess the roles of transportation, distribution, and warehouse management within the functioning of the supply chain.
PLO 3: Assess the ways that purchasing and contracting, effective negotiation skills, and accounting impact supply chain management decisions.
PLO 4: Identify the essential aspects of transportation and distribution, and how international markets impact distribution activities.
PLO 5: Incorporate awareness of production and product quality management.
PLO 6: Assess information related to business law, ethics, and legal issues to the relationships and functioning of the supply chain.
PLO 7: Identify the ways that information technology applications can increase the efficiency and accuracy of the supply chain.

Civic Literacy Competency


Pursuant to Rule 6A-10.02413 of the Florida Administrative Code, effective Fall 2022 competency in civic literacy is a requirement for all students receiving an Associate in Science degree. Competency in civic literacy must be demonstrated in the following ways:

AND Florida Civic Literacy Examination (Score of 60% or better)

 

  • Or completing one of the following assessments with the score indicated:
    • AP Government and Politics: United States (Score of 3 or better)
    • AP United States History (Score of 4 or better)
    • CLEP: American Government (Score of 50 or better)
    • Florida Civic Literacy Examination (Score of 60% or better)
