The Child Care Center Management Certificate consists of coursework in leadership and administrative skills, educational programming, and financial issues associated with managing a quality childcare program. This certificate program provides college-level instruction to prepare students for the managerial and administrative aspects of childcare facilities. Courses from this certificate may be applied toward the Preschool Certificate, the Child Care Intervention Certificate, and the Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education and Management degree program.

This program includes coursework to meet requirement for the state-approved Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) with the completion of CHD 1380 Facilitating Development, CHD 2320 Early Childhood Curriculum, and CHD 2220 Child Growth and Development. To earn the FCCPC, the student must also complete CHD 1440 Early Learning Practicum. The approved foundational course for the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Director Credential is CHD 2801 Overview of Child Care Management. After completing this course and obtaining the FCCPC, the student can apply to receive the DCF Director Credential, which makes an individual eligible to be a director at a childcare facility (or to function as a director of his or her own childcare facility).

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Explain activities and tasks as they relate to the various stages of development in young children. 
PLO 2: Plan a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum that is inclusive of activities that facilitate principles and processes of child development to enhance the whole child. 
PLO 3: Use appropriate guidance and classroom-management techniques. 
PLO 4: Create a system of ongoing observation, assessment, and documentation. 
PLO 5: Design a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment in support of state and local regulations and accreditation standards for a quality program. 
PLO 6: Describe the major components of a sound business-management plan. 
PLO 7: Demonstrate a commitment to professional and ethical standards through the use of effective leadership practices, organizational abilities, and written and oral communicaiton skills.  
PLO 8: Create and expand appropriate activities and basic concepts for math and science based on child developmental progression.
