High School Transcripts
|
|
Each student must submit a high school transcript upon admission to the College unless the student has an accredited (or equivalent) associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree.
Polk State College readily accepts a student’s high school transcript if it meets any of the following criteria:
- It is a transcript from a public high school from within a U.S. state or territory.
- It is a transcript from a previously validated private high school from within Polk State College’s district.
- The transcript is from a regionally accredited high school.
- The transcript is from a high school accredited by the Distant Education and Training Council (DETC) or AdvancEd.
- It is for a state or military-issued General Education Diploma (GED).
- It is a foreign high school transcript that has been evaluated by Polk State College or a NACES affiliate and deemed equivalent to a standard high school diploma.
Any other high school diploma must be validated before being recognized as acceptable. The student is expected to participate in the collection of the required documentation so that the College can make an informed decision on the validity of the student’s diploma and the diploma-granting institution. An institution that is not registered with a department of education from a U.S. state or territory is automatically denied. Generally, a school that offers an exam for a diploma, yet does not fit into one of the categories above, is denied.
