ART 1511C - Landscape Painting 2 hours Lecture, 2 hours Lab, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): ART 1300C or Permission of Instructor AA Elective: Yes In this course, students use the Alla Prima and Indirect Studio painting techniques to study the traditional methods of landscape painting. This painting course focuses on the color ramifications inherent in the careful observation of light and form. Emphasis is placed on color, rapid decision making, and the constant adjustments required while painting outdoors. This course focuses on color, light, composition, and texture. Students also practice and apply these techniques while painting from photographs.
