AVM 4460 - Environmental Issues for Aerospace Management 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Upper-Division College Credit AA Elective: No This course includes an overview of noise impact issues, environmental planning, and wildlife hazards, as well as hazardous materials and environmental regulations that impact the operation of airports, airlines, air cargo operations, flight schools, fixed-base operations, and other airport businesses. Students study and identify typical environmental permitting and mitigation requirements and examine how to avoid possible conflicts with grant assurances. The course investigates best practices for compliance with local, regional, state, and national environmental regulations, and provides an overview of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and its possible implications for project planning.
