ASC 4551 - Advanced and High Altitude Aerodynamics 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Upper-Division College Credit AA Elective: No This course offers students the opportunity to explore advanced theoretical concepts in aerodynamics. Broad topics such as incompressible flow airfoil theory and wing theory are covered. Further, students examine the calculation of stall speed, drag, and maximum endurance and range. Configuration changes, high- and low-speed conditions, special flight conditions, and an introduction to compressible flow are also addressed. Special consideration of the application of high-altitude aerodynamics in flight operations is included.
