CET 2627C - Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks 4 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisites: CET 2620C or current CCNA Certification This course includes instruction in selecting switching technology solutions for campus networks. It also covers media types, basic switch command line programming, Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) configuration, VLAN Trunking, VLAN Pruning, and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP). Instruction also includes routing between VLANs, using multi-layer switch operations, and using Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) as well as multicasting and restricting network access with switching security techniques. Students install, configure, and operate complex-routed LAN and WAN switching networks.
