The AS Computer Network Engineering Technology degree program prepares students for careers as network administrators, network engineers, and network specialists. This program provides students with the skills necessary to plan, design, implement, and administer computer networks of all sizes. In addition to the traditional Microsoft and Cisco offerings, specializations within the program provide opportunities for students to become proficient in Linux, Network Security, and Wireless Administration and Security. Courses within the program prepare students for industry certification exams offered by Microsoft, Cisco, Novell, CompTIA, and the Security Certified Program, including the Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), and Convergence Technologies Professional  (CTP. As an active member of the networking community, Polk State College is an authorized Cisco Networking Academy and CWNP Academy, and belongs to CompTIA. Additionally, the College is a Novell Academic Training Partner and a Security Certified Program Partner.

Students who score below the required levels on state-mandated placement tests in writing, reading, and mathematics must enroll in and complete the appropriate developmental courses before they enroll in some required program courses.
