The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Supervision and Management Program provides individuals who have an associate’s degree or the equivalent with the opportunity to further their education and advance in their chosen professions. Students build upon the foundational skills attained through their associate’s degree programs by completing upper-division coursework in management and leadership practices. Upper-level coursework in the BAS Program provides students with the opportunity to engage in a concentrated area of study and develop a theoretical and practical understanding of organizational management.

Through the Business Information Technology concentration of study, students analyze business issues and data challenges and then apply decision-support and business-intelligence solutions for improving work processes for better business decision making. The program allows students to analyze problems using logic and analysis tools, translate instruction sets into a computer language, and build and maintain business-intelligence information systems.
 

Admission Criteria:

Admission to this program requires an AS or AA degree (or the equivalent) from a regionally accredited school or college, and at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 point scale. Students must meet the requirements for college-level mathematics, reading, and writing. Any deficiencies must be satisfied prior to admission to the bachelor’s degree program. Students with an AAS degree are qualified for admission to the bachelor’s degree program once they have met the above-mentioned requirements. Any deficiencies in General Education requirements must be satisfied prior to graduation with a bachelor’s degree. If the student’s associate’s degree is from a non-regionally accredited institution, but is nationally accredited, the degree qualifies for admission, but a course-by-course evaluation is done according to Polk State College’s transfer practices and policies.

The Business Information Technology concentration is specifically designed for students who have completed an AS degree in Computer Systems and Business Analysis at Polk State College, which includes the courses listed below. Students who have earned an AS in a different program or an AA degree are required to complete prerequisite the courses below (or their equivalent) before taking the upper-level concentration courses:
