Early Childhood Education and Management, AS

The Early Childhood Education and Management Program provides a study of classroom skills and practical experiences for teachers of young children. The curriculum emphasizes an application of the skills necessary to meet the emotional, creative, social, cognitive, and physical needs of children in the infant, toddler, and preschool arena.

Employment opportunities for graduates of this program include working as managers, directors, coordinators, and teachers in home-based, faith-based, private, and public child development centers, as well as opportunities in preschools and other programs for young children. This program also includes courses for the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Director Credential, and the Florida Director Credential.

Certain courses in this program require placement at the college level or satisfaction of developmental education requirements in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Electives (3-4 Credits Required)


Students may take any course that has been approved as an elective.

Students interested in pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education are encouraged to take EME 2040 Introduction to Technology for Educators as elective, as this course is required for admission into the program.
