Program: AS-25320
This program is designed to provide classroom knowledge and practical experience for teachers of young children. Students learn to meet the emotional, creative, social, cognitive, and physical needs of children in the infant, toddler, and preschool arena.
Employment opportunities include working as managers, directors, coordinators, and teachers in home-based, faith-based, private, and public child care/child development centers, preschools, and other programs for young children. This program also includes courses for the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), the VPK Director Credential, and the Florida Director Credential.
Students who score below the required levels on state-mandated placement tests in writing, reading, and mathematics must enroll in and complete the appropriate college preparatory courses before they enroll in some required program courses.
