CJC 2005 - Operations and Procedures in Correctional Institutions 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisites: Placement at the college level or completion of required developmental education courses in reading and writing AA Elective: Yes This course provides an examination of the unique problems that are associated with correctional institutions. The curriculum introduces the philosophies, history, and contemporary issues associated with correctional institutions; sentencing procedures are also discussed. Students examine the issues of race and gender as they are associated with corrections.
