Readmission to Polk State College


A student maintains an active application status provided that a break in enrollment does not exceed one year or three terms. A student returning after an absence of one or more academic years, or a student who applied to Polk State but did not attend within one or more academic years, must:

  • Complete an Application for Readmission online.
     
  • Submit transcripts from all colleges or universities attended since last attending or applying to Polk State College.
     
  • Retake a college placement test if it has been more than two years.

Note: This requirement is for a student who has not completed a college-level English and/or a college-level mathematics course with an overall grade point average of 2.0 and who is not exempt from developmental education per the Florida Statutes.

  • Submit all college transcripts, including those previously submitted if readmitting after a one-year break in attendance.
     
  • Meet the Graduation Requirements  of the Catalog in effect at the time of readmission.

A currently attending student who is changing from non-degree-seeking to degree-seeking status must meet the requirements of the Catalog year in the year in which he or she declares degree-seeking status.
