CGS 1100 - Computer Applications for Business 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit AA Elective: Yes This course focuses on how computers can be used as tools in the solution of business-related problems, particularly with respect to personal computer hardware and software used in today’s business environment. Students use pre-written programs to practice business applications such as word processing and the production of spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphics, as well as the use of web browsers. This course emphasizes mastery with the use of computers in today’s business world. Hands-on exercises reinforce class work. It is recommended that students with no computer applications experience take CGS 1061 Introduction to Computers and Information Systems prior to enrolling in this course.
This course is also offered in Honors format. For Honors Program sections, Honors Program permission is required.
