HIM 1222C - Basic ICD-9-CM Coding Guidelines and Principles 6 hours Lecture, 4 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisites: BSC 1084C and HSC 1531 This course focuses on the principal applications for coding of disease processes and identified conditions, as well as procedures in accordance with the official ICD-9-CM Coding Guidelines. Students practice appropriate code selection and sequencing. This is a fast-paced course which requires extensive work outside of the classroom.
