The course emphasizes the general concepts of anatomy and physiology applied for the assessment and management of emergency patients by the paramedic in the pre-hospital field area. The nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems are covered. The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) National Standard Paramedic Curriculum objectives for anatomy and physiology are covered.
