CJK 0064 - Fundamentals of Patrol 35 Contact hours Vocational Credit Prerequisite(s): Permission of the Program Director This course addresses the daily skills and techniques needed by officers to perform patrol duties, including the use of mobile electronic devices, electronic sources of information, and community policing and problem solving strategies. Methods of approach to various high-risk situations are explored, along with practical exercises and stress management techniques. This course covers proper procedure for the initial response, approach and contact with subjects, establishment of a perimeter, suspect custody, and prisoner processing. Objectives include those specified by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.
