ETI 2411C - CNC Machine Processes

This course on computer numerical control (CNC) machine processes prepares students to effectively and efficiently program and run a Haas CNC mill. This course covers machining centers; machining center tools; inserts, speeds, feeds, and carbide insert fundamentals; and CNC programming basics.

Classroom and laboratory exercises introduce intermediate aspects of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, with a focus on turning centers. This course covers topics on feed rate control, cutter radius offset, turning and boring, grooving, part-off procedures, and contour cutting cycles.

This course covers topics on computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and programming with CNC machines and prepares students to effectively and efficiently program and run a Haas CNC turning center and Hass CNC mill. Course topics include numerical control, axes, coordinate systems, machining centers; machining center tools; inserts, speeds, feeds, carbide insert fundamentals, and CNC programming basics.
