EEC 4008 - Teaching Literature and Writing in Early Childhood Education 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Program; completion of RED 3009. This course presents the skills and strategies required to implement a coordinated literature program and an integrated writing curriculum in an early childhood setting (i.e., kindergarten to grade 3). The pre-service educator gains fluency in reading and writing development theories, as well as strategies to ensure the needs of all children are met.
