CET 1600C - Network Fundamentals 3 hours Lecture, 1 hour Lab, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit AA Elective: No This course introduces students to fundamental networking concepts and technologies. Fundamental training occurs as students explore what a network is and how to configure a network operating system. The basics of network protocols are introduced through analysis of the Open Systems Intercommunication (OSI) reference model from the bottom up. Network access, Ethernet, the network layer, transport layer, and application layer are studied. Additionally, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing are discussed, and IPv4 subnetting is explored.
