TSL 3080 - ESOL Issues: Principles and Practices I 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Upper-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): EEC 3301 AA Elective: No This course provides an introduction to theories, laws, and practices involved in the education of English Language Learners (ELLs). The goal is to prepare professional educators with essential information and skills regarding second language acquisition and the proper assessment formats that can guide a more holistic approach to language development in the classroom. In addition to class meetings, field experience in an age 3 to grade 3 educational setting is required. This course is a Florida ESOL (2010) Endorsement competency-infused class and satisfies Endorsement Domain 2 (Applied Linguistics).
