ASC 2560 - Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): ASC 1010 and Permission of the Program Director AA Elective: No This course provides a survey of unmanned aircraft platforms and common systems with an emphasis on civil applications. Students explore the history and development of UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) platforms, components and functions, regulatory requirements, mission planning for flight operations, and operational considerations. As select UAS technology is controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), students must provide proof of United States citizenship to the Registrar’s Office before registration via any one of the following documents: Passport, Birth Certificate, Naturalization Paper, or Certificate of Citizenship.
