ATF 1100L - Private Pilot Flight 1 hours Lab, 1 credit Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s) or Corequisite(s): ATT 1100 and Permission of Instructor AA Elective: No This course provides a study of the skills needed to safely exercise the privileges and responsibilities of a private pilot. Students apply information regarding aerodynamics, aircraft systems, aviation regulations, the US Airspace System, weight and balance, aircraft performance, aviation and weather, flight publications, basic flight physiology, and flight safety. The student must complete the appropriate flight lessons and pass the Federal Aviation Administration’s Private Pilot Practical Exam to satisfactorily complete the course. Flight training fees (in addition to the cost of tuition) are required and must be paid in advance of the course start date. Flight training costs for this course are based on 35 hours of flight training, which is the minimum number of flight hours allowed by the FAA for Private Pilot Certification. Any additional training required beyond the FAA minimum is the financial responsibility of the student. This course is not eligible for GI Bill funding. Veteran students are financially responsible for tuition and fees.
