HSA 1100 - Introduction to the U.S. Healthcare System 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): Requires placement at the college level or satisfaction of developmental education requirements in reading and writing. AA Elective: Yes This course provides an overview of the United States healthcare system, including the economic, social, political, and technological forces that shape the industry. The role of state and federal government and regulatory agencies in healthcare delivery is examined. The fundamental roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members are surveyed.
