AVM 2134 - Aircraft Dispatcher: Theory 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): ASC 1010, ASC 1210, ASC 1310, and ASC 2870 AA Elective: No This course provides instructional preparation for certification as an Aircraft Dispatcher and includes theoretical information relevant to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Test. Topics include meteorology, Federal Aviation Regulations, aircraft performance, aviation security and emergency procedures, navigation, communications, and air traffic control processes. A student is required to complete this course and pass the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Test prior to beginning Aircraft Dispatcher - Practical (AVM 2132 ).
Training fees (in addition to the cost of tuition) are required and must be paid in advance of the course start date. Training fees are based on the required minimum hours of instruction approved by the FAA for this course. Any additional training required beyond the FAA minimum is the financial responsibility of the student.
