MGF 1130 - Mathematical Thinking 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in MAT 1033 or MAT 1100; or an appropriate placement examination score. AA Elective: Yes This course emphasizes the use of multiple means of problem-solving through student-centered mathematical exploration. The course is designed to develop effective analytical skills and increase problem-solving ability through practical application and divergent-thinking exercises. This course is appropriate for individuals pursuing a wide range of disciplines and programs. A scientific calculator is recommended (a graphing calculator is allowed).
