The Law Enforcement Auxiliary Officer Basic Recruit Training Program provides study for applicants for employment or appointment by criminal justice agencies to assist full-time or part-time officers. A student who earns this certificate may work as an auxiliary officer with limited authority and in the company of a certified officer. This program meets the training requirements of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

The Law Enforcement Auxiliary Officer Basic Recruit Training Program requires enrolling individuals to be physically and mentally strong, fair-minded, and constantly alert. Candidates must submit an application for the program to the Kenneth C. Thompson Institute of Public Safety Office.
