The Network Systems Technology (Network Virtualization and Cloud Technologies) degree program prepares students for careers as network administrators, network engineers, and network specialists. This program provides a study of the skills necessary to plan, design, implement, and administer virtualized environments including storage processes, virtualized servers, and virtualized desktops. Courses within the program prepare students for industry certification exams offered by Cisco (CCENT), CompTIA (A+), EMC (EMCPA in storage and cloud infrastructure), and VMware (VCP and VCP-DT). As an active member of the networking community, Polk State College is an authorized Cisco Networking Academy, Microsoft IT Academy, CompTIA Authorized Academy, VMware IT Academy, and a member of the EMC Academic Alliance.
Certain courses in this program require placement at the college level or satisfaction of developmental education requirements in reading, writing, and mathematics.
