Program: AS-25050
The Business Operational Management Program is articulated with the Polk County School Board (PCSB) career centers: Ridge Career Center and Traviss Career Center. It provides the opportunity for an individual who has completed a specific technical program to pursue college-level coursework that is appropriate for supervisory and managerial roles, as well as for upward mobility in the chosen field. A student in this program must complete a program of 900-clock hours or more at a Polk County School Board Career Center (Ridge/Traviss). Each eligible student is awarded 15 credits toward the technical skills portion of the degree. To be awarded these credits, the student must consult with an advisor either at one of the Polk County School Board Career Centers or at Polk State College. The Program Director can provide more information at: businessprograms@polk.edu. This program is considered a terminal associate degree. If a student opts to pursue a bachelor’s degree, the 15 articulated technical credits are non-transferable; the student would need to take 15 additional college credits.
Certain courses in this program require placement at the college level or satisfaction of developmental education requirements in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Note: This program corresponds with the Florida Department of Education Curriculum Framework for Industrial Management.
