The Florida Law Enforcement Auxiliary Academy Program provides study for applicants for employment or appointment by criminal justice agencies, with or without compensation, to assist full-time or part-time officers. A student who earns this certificate may work as an auxiliary officer with limited authority and in the company of a certified officer. This program meets the training requirements of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

The Florida Law Enforcement Auxiliary Academy Program requires enrolling individuals to be physically and mentally strong, fair-minded, and constantly alert. Candidates must submit an application for the program to the Kenneth C. Thompson Institute of Public Safety Office.

Total Hours: 319


**CJK0020 CMS Criminal Justice Vehicle Operations is optional and is based on employing agency requirements.  If required, the course shall be taught by a Commission-certified high-liability instructor.  If CMS Criminal Justice Vehicle Operations is not instructed, the total program hours will be reduced to 316 hours.
