The Logistics and Transportation Specialist Certificate Program prepares the student for initial employment in the Supply Chain Management arena and includes supplemental training for an individual who is currently (or was previously) employed in this field. The program provides a study of the cross-functional skills involved in the planning, acquisition, flow, and distribution of goods and services. The courses contain rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards, relevant technical knowledge, and the skills needed to prepare for further education and careers within the Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics career cluster. The curriculum of this certificate is embedded within the Associate in Science in Supply Chain Management degree program; credits from the program can be applied toward attainment of this degree. 

Certain courses in this program require placement at the college level or satisfaction of Developmental Education requirements in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
After successful completion of this program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Apply the fundamental principles of purchasing, contracting, and supply planning as these relate to inventory control and management.
PLO 2: Assess the roles of transportation, distribution, and warehouse management within the functioning of the supply chain.
PLO 3: Assess the ways that purchasing and contracting, effective negotiation skills, and accounting impact supply chain management decisions.
PLO 4: Identify the essential aspects of transportation and distribution, and how international markets impact distribution activities.
PLO 5: Incorporate awareness of production and product quality management.
