The Food and Beverage Operations Certificate is designed to provide an in-depth, practical foundation in managerial skills for a successful career in the food and beverage industry. The program graduate is prepared for employment as a shift supervisor, restaurant supervisor, or bar and lounge supervisor. Credits earned within this program can be applied toward the Associate in Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management degree program.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Describe the organizational structure of various operations within the hospitality industry.
PLO 2: Identify and use principles of legal and ethical supervision practices.
PLO 3: Demonstrate the leadership and managerial skills required within a service-oriented industry.
PLO 4: Plan the purchase of food and supplies, and also control associated inventory levels.
