Program: AS-25031
The Associate in Science in Business Administration degree program is designed to prepare the graduate for employment in a business-based occupation. This program provides a broad study of business administration principles with a focus on the skills required to find employment in a chosen business-related field. The student examines, applies, and assesses the principles of business operations, management, marketing, and business law. The elective course options within the program allow the student to pursue specific business-related areas of interest.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Evaluate a firm’s financial results of operations, and choose appropriate actions or strategies as compiled from basic journal entries, posting, and summarizing of financial data.
PLO 2: Evaluate outcomes of legal decisions in business to determine appropriate strategies.
PLO 3: Integrate proper business terminology and professional practice in oral and written communication.
PLO 4: Integrate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications in conjunction with Internet research to construct business projects.
PLO 5: Appraise the macroeconomic environment in which businesses operate and determine appropriate actions.
PLO 6: Assess the microenvironment economic environment to determine appropriate marketing strategies.
PLO 7: Prepare and use financial information about business organizations to support decision making.
PLO 8: Differentiate the various purposes and functions of business types, operations, tasks, and organizational structures.
PLO 9: Recognize the importance of working well with coworkers, supervisors, subordinates and customers.
PLO 10: Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate strategies to reach different target markets.
PLO 11: Utilize a management style that adapts to varied situations.
PLO 12: Apply legal and ethical practices to human resource management.
PLO 13: Identify and demonstrate the skills which are necessary for employment in the field of business.
