This program provides coherent content aligned with the relevant technical skills that prepare an individual for further education and a career within the Network Security and Information Protection arenas of Information Technology. The ten classes in the certificate contain skillsets from several domains within the Security body of knowledge.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Apply design principles and concepts in computing and networking environments.
PLO 2: Demonstrate router configuration skills.
PLO 3: Differentiate and explain different access control models.
PLO 4: Identify and specify the appropriate actions to take to mitigate vulnerabilities and risks presented by different types of malicious code.
PLO 5: Demonstrate proficiency in securing network infrastructures; applying security-testing, intrusion, detection, and prevention techniques; and protecting data.
PLO 6: Demonstrate proficiency in performing security-penetration testing.
PLO 7: Demonstrate proficiency in responding to cybersecurity incidents.
PLO 8: Demonstrate principles related to account management; use role-based access control; and incorporate Azure policies, compliance, and trust.
