PHT 1128C - Functional Anatomy and Kinesiology I 3 hours Lecture, 3 hours Lab, 4 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program Corequisite(s): PHT 2220C and PHT 1213C AA Elective: No This lecture and lab course covers the relationships between the muscular and skeletal systems as these relate to the functional movements of the human body. The curriculum reviews mechanisms and planes as they relate to body movements. Palpation, observational skills, and data collection techniques related to the analysis of human movement are stressed. The principles of biomechanics, range of motion, manual muscle testing, and normal and pathological postures and gaits are covered. To pass this course, the student must earn a grade of C or better.
