PHT 2253C - Neurological Disabilities and Rehabilitation 3 hours Lecture, 3 hours Lab, 4 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisite(s): PHT 1129C, PHT 2221C, and PHT 2252C Corequisite(s): PHT 2930 and PHT 2931 AA Elective: No This lecture and lab course is devoted to the advanced study of the nervous system and selected neurological disabilities through the lifespan that are encountered in physical therapy practice. Emphasis is on the etiology, pathology, and clinical presentation of the diseases studied, as well as the physical therapy procedures that are most effective for each condition. The principles and techniques of therapeutic exercises and functional activities are discussed as these apply to the prevention, correction, and restoration of function in patients with specific neurological conditions.
