CET 1610C - Router Technology 3 hours Lecture, 1 hour Lab, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisites: CET 1600C AA Elective: No This course emphasizes networking, network terminology and protocols, and network standards. Additionally, the curriculum covers Local Area Networks (LANS), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models, Ethernet, Token Ring, Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) addressing, dynamic routing, and the network administrator’s function. Students implement beginning router configurations, demonstrate an understanding of routed and routing protocols, and apply the fundamentals of LAN switching.
