CET 2615C - Advanced Router Technology 3 hours Lecture, 1 hour Lab, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisites: CET1610C AA Elective: No This course emphasizes the following topics: networking, network terminology and protocols, network standards, Local Area Networks (LANs), LAN segmentation, segmentation techniques, IP and IPX (Internet Protocol and Internet Packet Exchange) addressing, Fast Ethernet, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and virtual LANs. Students progress to completion of advanced router configurations in the lab; they demonstrate LAN switching and VLANs, advanced LAN and LAN switched design, and Network management techniques.
