HIM 2820 - Data Quality Management Practicum

Prerequisites: HIM 2211C, HIM 2512C, HIM 2253C, and HIM 2234C

This practicum focuses on coding and reimbursement applications, chart auditing processes, supervision practices, work-flow processes, and project management. The student gains experience in the following arenas: Utilization Management, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance and Database queries. This practicum includes a minimum of 120-contact hours with the facility, and students should prepare to work one day a week at the assigned facility.
