MAT 1033 - Intermediate Algebra 3 hours Lecture, 3 credits Lower-Division College Credit Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in MAT 0028 or appropriate placement examination score AA Elective: Yes This course provides the foundation for higher-level courses in algebra through the development of algebraic skills, as well as examination of the basic mathematical principles underlying those skills. The course topics include factoring, rational expressions, linear and quadratic equations, rational exponents, radical expressions, graphing, systems of equations and inequalities, complex numbers, rational equations, functions, proportion and variation, and applications.
