The Early Childhood Education and Management Program provide a study of classroom skills and practical experiences for teachers of young children. The curriculum emphasizes an application of the skills necessary to meet the emotional, creative, social, cognitive, and physical needs of children in the infant, toddler, and preschool arena.
Employment opportunities for graduates of this program include working as managers, directors, coordinators, and teachers in home-based, faith-based, private, and public child development centers, as well as opportunities in preschools and other programs for young children. This program also includes courses for the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Director Credential, and the Florida Director Credential.
Students who score below the required levels on state-mandated placement tests in writing, reading, and mathematics must enroll in and complete the appropriate developmental education courses before they enroll in some required program courses.
