Program: U5630
The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Supervision and Management Program enables an individual with an associate degree (or the equivalent) to further his or her education and advance in a chosen profession. The student builds upon the foundational skills attained through the associate degree by completing upper-division coursework in management and leadership practices. Upper-level coursework in the BAS Program provides a concentrated area of study for developing a theoretical and practical understanding of organizational management.
The concentration in Supply Chain Management (SCM) prepares graduates to enter the workforce in organizations operating within manufacturing, logistics, retail, and service industries. The SCM program concentration offers a multidisciplinary education that balances theoretical, experiential, and integrative learning in supply chain management.
Through this program, the student develops problem-solving, critical-thinking, and project-management skills that enable a holistic understanding of strategic and operational aspects of supply chain management. This prepares the individual to perform jobs across multiple supply chain functions such as procurement, planning, and sourcing; project and quality management; legal oversight; analytical and financial assessment; operations planning; and customer relations and service.
The concentration in Supply Chain Management (SCM) is specifically designed for the student who has completed a Polk State College AS in Supply Chain Management, which includes the courses listed below. A student who has earned an AS in a different program (or an AA degree) is required to complete the prerequisite courses below (or the equivalent) before taking the upper-level concentration courses:
