This program prepares the graduate for employment in a managerial position in the hospitality industry, and it can also provide supplemental training for an individual who has been or is currently employed in this field. The sequence of courses provides coherent, in-depth content aligned with the relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare the graduate for further education or an immediate career within various sectors of the Hospitality and Tourism industry.  

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is able to:
PLO 1: Identify the major sectors of the hospitality industry and discuss their interaction.  
PLO 2: Formulate and analyze hospitality industry marketing strategies including targeting, positioning, and assessing consumer behaviors. 
PLO 3: Discuss the specialized needs for marketing within the hospitality industry. 
PLO 4: Explain how effective communication skills are important to success as a hospitality supervisor and describe personal characteristics that affect communication skills. 
PLO 5: Describe the organizational structure of various operations within the hospitality industry. 
PLO 6: Identify and use principles of legal and ethical supervision practices. 
PLO 7: Describe the various operations and procedures within the hotel and resort sector of the hospitality industry.  
PLO 8: Demonstrate the leadership and managerial skills required within a service-oriented industry.  
PLO 9: Plan the purchase of food and supplies, and also control associated inventory levels. 
PLO 10: Identify risk and safety issues in the hospitality industry.
